The Energy Monday series presents “Waste Prevention, DIY: Repairability & Upcycling”.
• Did you know that as societies become wealthier, they generate more waste? • Did you know that on average a European citizen produces 475kg of waste per year? • Are you aware that only 40% of it is actually being reused or recycled? • How can such unsustainable consumption be addressed?
In recent years, local initiatives have revitalized concepts of up-cycling and repairing while promoting the idea that “one man’s trash, is another man’s treasure”.
Energy Crossroads Denmark invites you for an interesting and highly relevant discussion as part of the Energy Monday talk series on waste prevention and the concepts of repairability and up-cycling. To draw on the examples of local initiatives, we have invited an exciting range of speakers.
To address the question if one can actually prevent waste: • Hervé Corvellec, professor of Management at the Department of Service Studies, Lund University. To download the presentation in pdf: EM-2017-04-03-HerveCorvellec-WastePrevention.
To discuss (in panel) the issue from three local initiatives:
• Federica Piazza – Materiale Centrale. To download the presentation in pdf: EM-2017-04-03-FedericaPiazza-MaterialeCentralen.
• Arlette Bentzen – Repair Café Nørrebro. To download the presentation in pdf: EM-2017-04-03-ArletteBentzen-RepairCaféNørrebro.
