Energy Crossroads is currently focusing on developing the 2009 Global Conference Series and an interactive online clean energy community for students around the globe.
The Conference Series will feature events in five countries that will engage students and surrounding communities in interdisciplinary discussions oc how clean energy can improve energy security, reduce environmental impact, and provide economic opportunities for students individually and their countries as a whole.
The online clean energy community will connect students that are interested in clean energy from different perspectives, as well as from different nations, in what will truly be a "crossroads" of interaction. We have found that getting students and experts in technology, local policy, geopolitical and security, business, science, and engineering can forge coalitions for clean energy. This community will also allow these students to connect and learn from their peers around the world. Whether an engineering student interested in solar panels in Denmark is looking for likeminded friends in other developed or developing countries, or to better understand a U.S. policy from a student with a different perspective, this online network will facilitate quality relationships to help bring us closer to a clean, prosperous, and secure energy future.
